Rajkot is a city in the state of Gujarat in Western India.

One of the most significant industrial and tourism centers of the state of Gujarat, the historical importance of the city is not to be ignored also. Rajkot was founded by one of the rulers of the Jadeja kingdom - Thakur Saheb Vibhaji Ajoji Jadeja. It was the capital of the Saurashtra State during the British rule. 

The tourists can avail any means of transportation to reach Rajkot. The Rajkot Airport has regular domestic flights linking major airports of the country. Rajkot boasts of a major railway station that connects the city to the rest of the country with regular trains. The road network of Rajkot is excellently maintained. One can reach Rajkot by bus, taxi or any other means of road transports. 

Air: Rajkot Airport (IATA code: RAJ and ICAO code: VARK). There are several daily direct flights from Rajkot to Mumbai. Mumbai in turn is connected to rest of the world.

Train: There are direct trains from all parts of India to Rajkot. Some of the longer routes include trains from Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Jammu-Tawi, Kochi, Secunderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Bhopal etc.

Bus: Rajkot is quite well connected to the entire region of Saurashtra and rest of Gujarat by buses.

The best time to visit the city of Rajkot is between the months of October and March when the climate remains pleasant. Rajkot is blessed with several places of great tourism interest. Some of the Rajkot tourist attractions are:
